Summary
He drank more and more and started blacking out more and more. He started to let his drinking seep into the day while Peter was busy hanging out with the other Avengers.
He'd lose count of how many drinks or bottles he had, he'd lose count of the time, of what day it was. He just sat in his office, in the same ten thousand dollar suit he had been wearing for three days in a row, and drank.
Maybe that's what led to this moment. He could've prevented it but he was too damn selfish. When he adopted Peter he had signed up to be a parent, a dad. Dads didn't mess up this bad.

I love you, I mean your my dad" Peter said, tears still sliding down his cheeks but hopeful that his words would sink through Mr. stark. The man he loved like a father. The man that he had been wanting to call "dad" for a long time.
And the words did cut through to him, they sliced right through him. As he looked down at his crying child pressed against a wall, backed against a wall by him.
It was Him, but with an alternative ending where Tony realizes what he is doing earlier.
