Summary

Jake tries to anchor on their words and not how exposed he feels, how helpless, bent over and tied to the chair. Maybe if they keep talking to him he can block out the rest.

“What if he’d had a weapon?” Mav’s voice is soft and Jake can hear the concern. He hadn’t thought of it that way; Jake saw someone innocent in danger and acted. He thought Ice and Mav would understand but sees now that they’re just worried about what could have happened to him. They do always talk to him about taking care of himself, treating himself well so he can be at his best for them. He tried to do what was right, but Jake can understand their disappointment.
Ice and Mav care about Jake too much to let his mistakes go unpunished.
