Summary
Satoshi was called back to the Alola region to finally take up his responsibilities as the regional champion - he was now going to be the face of Alola, their protector, their guide. It didn't matter that he ended up losing the Pokemon World Championship, or that he's been stagnant in Kanto for the past couple of months - he is now an adult in the eyes of Alolan laws, and the region still saw him as a powerful and worthy trainer.
Little did he know that stepping up to the plate was going to forcibly kickstart the next chapter of his life. Nothing was ever quite normal for the Chosen One, after all.
Though he is still yet to learn that he should reach out for help before it's too late.

Summary
Ash was tired.
Not the kind of tired where you can take a nice nap and you’ll feel well rested. Not the kind of tiredness that makes you irritable, where you can simply drink some coffee and the world seems to wake up with you.
This was the kind of tiredness, the kind of exhaustion, that sat deep in his bones. His shoulders felt heavy and worn, like he was carrying a heavy bag around all day. A dull constant pain sat in between his eyes, a sort of ache that couldn’t be rubbed away or doused in pain medication.
