It is perhaps the worst day Anthony has experienced since his father’s passing. Crisis after crisis, Anthony starts to feel like all he can offer is disappointment. He thinks the day can’t possibly get any worse, and then Kate Sharma, his nemesis since primary school, steps onto the scene.--
“Hey, kiddo,” Anthony said tiredly to Hyacinth as she climbed into the back seat of his car. It was half seven and Anthony had just left the hospital.
He realized he was still in an old worn out band t-shirt, cut-off sweatpants, and a ratty old pair of tennis shoes with no socks. It would have to do, he didn’t have time to go home or change— all he’d had time for was an absolutely crap cup of coffee from a hospital vending machine.
“I am twelve,” Hyacinth told him, with some frustration in her voice as she buckled up. “I am too old for kiddo.”Series

The heavy expensive earrings felt like weights on Kate’s ears. The ridiculous couture gown was itchy on her skin, and the tiny stiletto heels were making her feet ache. She didn’t hate the dress, especially after seeing how the strips of fabric crossing her breasts and the little bits of skin showing under her cleavage and at her sides made Anthony’s eyes practically bulge out of his head.
