Summary
“I love it when you scream bloody murder.” Hifumi puts it out there with such a casual flair that Doppo nearly chokes on the wind blowing into his face.
“What.”
Sometimes what it takes for Doppo to really feel alive is one trip to the ocean, two snails, and fifty-something thoughts written down in a teal notebook.

Summary
It feels like my hands are amputated, Hifumi said suddenly. Doppo blinked. Why? Hifumi lost his voice. She took them from me. I can feel my wrists, but nothing else.
Doppo held Hifumi’s cold fingers in his, rubbing circles onto each finger pad the way his mother taught him how to roll dough to flatten into pastries. You’re wrong. They’re right here. See? And he lifted them up so high that Hifumi’s hand swallowed the entirety of the rising sun, outlining itself in a livid red. Doppo curled Hifumi’s fingers into his palm and held it there tightly, because if Hifumi was able to take the moon’s crescent shapes in his trembling hold earlier last night, then surely he would be able to tame the sun. It’ll always be yours. It’s always been yours.
A message to the boy who believes that Doppo can turn him into the sun.

Summary
“What if,” Doppo breathes, half delirious on weariness and half delirious on the fear of separation, “what if we don’t get into anywhere together?”
Hifumi huffs in what Doppo thinks might be a laugh. He doesn’t know. He’s too out of it. The moon is in front of him and it’s lulling him to sleep with its soft glow. Doppo closes his eyes. “You’re worrying your head too much, Doppo-chin. Even if we don’t get into anywhere together, we’ll still be here for each other, right? So it doesn’t really matter where we are. I’ll still follow you, Doppo, even if we don’t end up together.”
// or: Doppo and Hifumi over the course of their high school days, as recorded through a Fujifilm camera acting as both their eyes at different times.
