Halfway through, Momo noticed that she was being watched.
She couldn't help but chuckle under her breath. Watching as the alpha’s wife noticed her reaction, looking back at Momo as well; she also only held her gaze for a second, but instead of blushing or looking away instead her eyes trailed down Momo’s body, an appreciative look on her face.
And only then did it finally hit Momo what this interaction had been about; they were checking her out.

Momo had known the guest list beforehand, had gone through it, name by name, no face there should surprise her, and yet she couldn’t help but stare as her eyes landed on Jihyo and Nayeon, a little farther from her, standing close together while talking. Even from this far Momo could see the blush on Nayeon’s face, clearly drunk as she spoke, pointing and rolling her eyes. The alpha, her wife, seemed much soberer, and had the expression of someone trying not to laugh at a child, both tired and amused.
They looked happy; at ease.

Jihyo took a deep breath and held it in “So what are you thinking of doing right now?”
“I told Nayeon what I told you last night, and then I asked her out.” She released her breath, quietly relaxing her shoulders, but she exhaled too soon. “She told me to take you out first; that you need it more than she does.”
“She’s probably eavesdropping right now,” Jihyo said, rubbing the spot between her eyebrows.
“Probably” Momo nodded.
Silence fell over them again.
