Ficlet no.1 for my Tears of the Kingdom Countdown, 15 days remaining as of writing.
It's been two years since the events of Twilight Princess, and Link has not returned home yet. He's been living a monadic life with Ashei as friend and lover, carefully keeping his distance from anything he might get too attached to because if he's learned anything, it's that the worst stabs to the heart are the ones fairies don't heal.
When Ilya shows up in Thelma's bar just at the right time to catch him, it's pretty obvious Ashei's had a hand in arranging it, but that quickly becomes less important than the fact Ilya's hurting, and that was never the intent.
Courage and generosity aren't only about fighting monsters, but it's always about choosing hope in any shape you can find it, even if the risk is real.

Set in Skyward Sword.
After Zelda explains everything and seals herself in 'sleep' to maintain the seal, Link returns to the sky in a daze and finds himself by the Great Statue of the Goddess. There's something he absolutely needs to tell Zelda, and talking to her divine nature seems more likely to reach her than talking to her crystallized body did.

The End of the World is coming, and although the Great Deku Tree knows how to save his children, he cannot save the Lost Woods or their magic, or ultimately, himself. Not without the help of a Sage. It's a bittersweet salvation that involves yet another one of his children having to grow up after all and take on a lonely destiny, even if they do it of their own free will.

Fluffy fluff. Set after a Link to the Past and sort of incorporating the events of Link's Awakening and the Oracle Games in that they are mentioned. Link is desperately in love with Zelda but doesn't want her to know because he's afraid she'll feel she needs to indulge it. Zelda is hopelessly in love with Link and doesn't want him to know because she thinks she needs to marry for political gain and doesn't want Link to agree to such a life.
The poor King and Link's Uncle are caught in the middle of this mess until the King takes matters into his own hands.Update: this story now has a WIP prequel! Same two silly teenagers, but while they're living through the definitely not silly events of A Link to the Past. Please check out A Link Against the Dark!

How many times did you die on the Great Plateau the first time you played BOTW? This story answers the question nobody's asking: how do the King and Zelda feel when Link dies in stupid ways repeatedly?
It does NOT answer the question of who helps when Link dies after the Great Plateau but the assumption here is that once he manages to survive the Great Plateau, he's ready to actually be competent. So yeah, not realistic in terms of reflecting players experience with the game. Let's ignore that and just enjoy Link driving the King crazy.

Ficlet 8 of my Tears of the Kingdom Countdown. 8 Days remain at time of writing.
Set in the timeline where Link was defeated by Ganondorf. This is actually something that's been in my head for a while because it influences my main WIP. It's practically a prologue for it, in a way.
Link is losing his fight to Ganondorf, but the aftermath hurts in a whole different way than Ganondorf killing him. The Sages all vanished with the King of Evil, and there is no doubt at all in the hero's mind that they are not coming back - they sacrificed themselves to stop Ganondorf. They're gone, either dead or trapped right along with their enemy,
The Spirit of the Hero hadn't known such defeat before, had never faced regrets so painful as these. But courage is also the act of picking yourself up, and it helps when you're reminded that someone believes in you.

Link defeated Vaati and saved his best friend, Zelda, four years ago. The minish have left Hyrule, along with all the shrinking stumps, and along with Ezlo. And Link, his life now normal again, really misses the excitement.
So when Ezlo miraculously shows up asking for help, Link is all too happy to oblige, and off they go to a strange haunted forest.
A just for fun story that is really not meant to be taken seriously.

A love story interrupted by the calamity, possibly never to resume if Link's memory doesn't return.
Part 1: Zelda's prayers at the Spring of Wisdom go unanswered, and she can't conceal her grief, frustration and despair. Link abandons protocol to try and comfort her, leading to an increasingly honest exchange that ends in a double confession.

Ficlet 11 of my Tears of the Kingdom Countdown, for days D -3 to D -1.
Link, as a 12 year old prodigy who can already best fully trained Royal Knights in combat, is already rather famous around Hyrule Castle. Nobody suspected, however, that he was anything more than an exceptionally talented child until he confessed to one of his fathers that he can see and talk to Koroks and that a female voice in his head is calling him to the Lost Woods.
With the understanding that keeping him from the Sword that Seals the Darkness if he's indeed the one chosen to wield it would do no good to anybody, he's taken to the Great Deku Tree and to the Master Sword, to meet with his destiny.

Summary
Not actually part of the countdown since that's over, but a sequel to Chosen because sometimes OCs just decide they want more time.
Theden is one of the rather few Castle Town survivors after the Calamity, and is recognized by Avax, one of the Sheikahs who brought Link to the Shrine of Resurrection, as one of said Link's fathers. Avax lets Theden know what's happening with Link, and Theden seizes the chance to do something for his son.
