Summary
Christopher doesn’t know how the conversation got here. One moment they’re all having dinner at Buck’s while talking about his dad and Buck’s jobs as firefighters, the next Natalia is bringing up how Buck getting struck by lightning on a call – Buck dying – is ‘cool’. Cool. She smiles as she says it, a grin stretching across her face. It’s the same look of wonder that Chris gets when Buck is telling him about his latest deep dive on Wikipedia. But right now, Chris’s face is far from that. And so is his dad’s.

Buck cooks dinner for Natalia, Eddie, and Christopher. Things go awry when Natalia mentions how cool Buck's death is. Let's just say that Christopher has some thoughts about that.

“I still can’t believe that really happened to you. It’s so freaking cool.” He’d frozen immediately, dropping his fork and letting it crash on his nearly empty dinner plate. Now, he swears all of their eyes are focused on him, as the silence in the room rings in his ears. He can’t really tell though because his gaze is locked on Natalia, trying to process if he heard her right.

Eddie's POV to my previous fic Cool, where Buck has invited Eddie and Chris over for dinner with him and Natalia. She brings it up how she thinks Buck’s death was cool. Eddie – unable to handle that – gets up and walks out on the balcony for some air. Buck goes after him, and they talk about Buck’s death was in fact not cool.
