Summary
The other end of the line was silent, and finally Gansey cleared his throat and spoke. “I’d very much like to keep seeing you,” he said, “and I didn’t mean to give you the impression that I wanted otherwise.” His voice was quiet, low, and sounded distinctly hurt. “I’ve been terribly ill this week and just—I tend to shut down when I’m not feeling well—”
Fuck.
“Oh.” Rubbing a hand over his face, Adam briefly contemplated changing his name and transferring to a different school; he’d done it before, he could do it again. Well, not the name-changing part. “I’m—are you feeling better?”

Summary
“How about you stay here and warm up while I go brave the elements to do some hunting-slash-gathering?”
Apparently trying to disappear into Gansey’s quilts, Adam burrowed deeper under the covers with a little huff. “Okay. But stick to gathering, I don’t want you hunting anything on campus.”
God, he was cute—Gansey tugged the quilt down enough to reveal Adam’s flushed cheek and pressed a kiss to his chilled skin. “Don’t tell me you haven’t wondered about the turkeys near the campus center, though.”
“Oh, obviously.” Adam tilted his head up just enough for his words to be intelligible, and Gansey caught a hint of a smile on his lips. “Gather me a waffle instead?”

Summary
“It’s just—is knowing how to take care of someone something people just know how to do? Like you have it or you don’t?”
There it is. Adam will never admit it, of course, but the fear of being broken—irreparably so—rears its head rarely enough that Gansey sometimes forgets that it’s always there, just below the surface. Scooting closer, Gansey wraps himself around Adam, cheek to damp cheek, and doesn’t reply until he’s sure he can keep his voice steady.
He sits back, brushes a hand through Adam’s hair, and softly says, “I learned from Ronan, actually.”

Summary
“I’ve had terrible insomnia this week,” Gansey says. “I’m managing maybe an hour or two each night, if I’m lucky.” As if in response to Adam’s unasked question, he adds, “I was going to try to nap after rehearsal.”
Using the cuff of his sweatshirt, Adam dabs some of the sweat off Gansey’s forehead. “And how much coffee have you had?”
A weak laugh. “Trust me, you don’t want the answer to that.”
