Ronan Lynch should not have picked up his phone. In hindsight, he should have turned it off the night before. He wouldn't need it. Not for a while. On the first morning of a month-long experiment in domesticity, his to-do list included more important tasks. Mostly staying in bed with his husband and sliding his hand down the front of Adam's pajama pants when he showed signs of waking. Once those activities ended, a leisurely morning would follow.
None of Ronan’s plans involved a pre-dawn telephone call from his older brother asking Ronan to take care of his kid.
After years of living like nomads, Adam Parrish and Ronan Lynch are finally looking to settle down. As a trial run in domesticity, they rent a house in Massachusetts for a month, but their plans are put on hold before they even begin. On what should be a relaxing first morning in Framingham, Declan and Jordan's au pair unexpectedly needs to leave Boston while they're out of town, and they only have one option for babysitting their three-month-old until they get home: Adam and Ronan.

But the version of himself that walks out of the aftermath of Cabeswater's sacrifice and Gansey's return is not the same person who planned that exit.

He can’t seriously think– Adam can name at least five better uses for his mouth.
“Only thing that gets you this hot and bothered is school.” Rubber absorbs on cement and he’s back to earth, proximity revealing a dirt streak along veiny neck– six uses. The toolbelt’s all clang until it settles, unlike Adam’s heartbeat, which just goesgoesgoes fasterfasterfaster as Ronan steps into his space. Loam-scented, brushed with dust, and the most significant few inches taller than Adam.
“Can’t possibly be from watching me,” Ronan’s glance on Adam is meaningful, “screwing in a lightbulb–”

All shit, jet-fuel alcohol sugars. Adam's face stilled, like the halting of facial procedures helped him compute information faster.
“And that…” Adam swallowed. “That was… inspiring for you?”
“Listen to the song and tell me how inspiring it is.” Ronan wiggled the device, again. “Come on. Most guys are flattered by this shit.”
“You wrote a song about me?”
“I write a lot of songs about you.” Ronan blinked, twice.
