  Summary

  After her mother's death, 17 y/o Deena Salée finds a letter hidden under her bed that wasn't there before. Inside is an old photo of her mother in college with a man, revealed as her biological father--the notorious hybrid Klaus Mikaelson. Her father's true nature, including her own and her family's is lightly explained before stating clear & bolded instructions to return to New Orleans in search of protection against a Great Danger.

  Determined to find her family & any living relatives, Deena travels from LeHavre, France, to New Orleans, Louisiana, with little knowledge of the supernatural world kept hidden from her since birth. It's quickly discovered that not only is her family the original product of vampires, but some secrets lie within her blood where danger is found, makin her the only of her kind--a tribrid. Figuring herself w grief fresh on her heart, adjustin to a new life, getting to know her family ppl fear--Deena must defend herself against a coven of witches seeking sacrifice upon an anicent prophecy, a pack of wolves who'll never accept her, vampires who despise her, & humans who are just a reminder of who she'll never be.
