Summary
"Could you tell me about it?"
"About what, angel?"
There was that expression on Aziraphale's face, one Crowley had seen a dozen times; a burning curiosity fighting with the delegations of God-given privacy. He placed one hand over Aziraphale's clenched fist, his unshielded eyes encouraging. Aziraphale sighed.
"Your Fall."

A promise made between late-night drinks.

Summary
Aziraphale never initiates contact.
It’s a thing they do. Crowley reaches out first and Aziraphale doesn’t push him away. But he never reaches out on his own, always keeps them at a distance, shoulders apart, a meter of space between them while they’re standing. And Crowley, like a man starved, reaches and reaches and reaches.
It’s what they do.
Things change after the Armageddon-That-Wasn’t.

“Here, to commemorate,” Crawly said, pulling out the fresh-looking freesia. Aziraphale stared at it in confusion, before a smile broke out on his face. It was so easy for the angel to do, even in the presence of a demon.

Summary
“I’ve heard about you.” Haniel turned to face the demon, meeting his beady stare with eyes that remained unchanged, untouched, Her original form not remodelled. “You’re that cherub that Fell.”
The words were a missed strike landing too close for comfort; the Dove didn’t flinch, but it was a near thing. “What of it?”
“Nothing. Just…it makes sense, doesn’t it? The sword, it’s a perfect balance between a good and evil act. Surely some of your angelicness is still in there.”

Summary
I should pull back, Crowley thought. She should pull back because she was the one with the fork in her mouth that Aziraphale was holding. Aziraphale wouldn’t pull back because that would be rude so Crowley had to pull back.
Pull back.
Crowley swallowed the cake down and pushed herself away because that was what she did. Push and pull. Six thousand years of pushing and pulling.
God, did it ever end?

Summary
When it was evident that Aziraphale would not be backing down, he let out a long-suffering sigh but allowed the angel to pull him to his feet, stumbling a little before he was steadied by strong arms that wrapped themselves around his back.
"There we go." Aziraphale was positively beaming.
"Uhm,” Crowley said, the epitome of eloquence. “So, I don't know the gavotte. Or whatever other old-timey dance you learned."
"A fox trot?" The saxophone swelled in response.
"Hnng,” he groaned. Bloody foxtrot. “Yeah, alright. Know that one."

Summary
"Well," Nina eventually starts, putting a stop to her and Maggie's silent conversation. "Breakups are…difficult. I would know."
Crowley splutters, cheeks surely aflame. "We weren't together."
"It was a near thing though, wasn't it?" Maggie says. "You loved each other very much."

Summary
It was the quiet that made him tense. Slow mornings didn't mean quiet mornings; that was an impossibility on a ship with a raucous crew. Quiet meant there was something amiss, something that had him rise from his bed with an arm already outstretched for his sword and-
He didn’t scream. He didn't scream.
It was a yelp at the very most, a botched swear at the very least. No one on The Seven Seas could say he, The Red Serpent, Captain of The Eden, screamed when he saw the life-size portrait of one Commander Aziraphale Fell looming over his bed. No one except the sniggering voice in the corner.
