Summary
“I nearly killed him,” Remus said, tone as dead as Binns during a history lecture.
Regulus’ eyes darted to the other two boys, Barty Crouch Jr. and Evan Rosier, then back to Remus not betraying a sliver of emotion.
“Why would you do that?” Regulus asked seeming no more than curious. When Remus responded his voice didn’t waiver.
“Because I’m a werewolf and it was a full moon.”
After the prank almost kills Snape, Remus can’t bear to look at Sirius. He also can’t bear to look at himself. In desperation, he tells his enemies that he’s a werewolf, but instead of trying to kill him, they do something entirely unexpected. They become his friend.

Summary
James stared at him, and Sirius looked back. James was right in front of him, but a million miles away.
He had never needed his best friend more.
He was sobbing before he was able to even consider stopping himself. His tired body was trembling and the wracking rejection that flooded him was taking away his ability to breathe.
All of a sudden, strong, sure arms were wrapping around him.
The sobs met an abrupt end as he let himself be embraced. It was the warmth he needed to ease the chill that had settled in his bones the moment Remus left.
