My BotP AU - the main part of the story arc covers the year or so immediately following on from canon. There are also stories that take place during and before the canonical time frame. The 2163 arc fleshes out the BotP universe beyond the five man band and spends a fair bit of time below decks with lesser mortals who make up the Galaxy Security roster as well as some of the movers and shakers on all sides. Lampshades will be hung, the idiot ball kicked around and fun poked at things like the Bowling Ball and the Giant Ant. There are a lot of "What if?" stories and "What happened next?" stories as well as a few "Behind the episode" stories which take place in and around the established canon.

Notes:

BotP canon has a lot of gaps in it. There's mention of an Intergalactic Federation of Peaceful Planets, there are Allied Worlds, there's an ISO, an organisation called Galaxy Security, a sizeable military and an interplanetary conflict going on around five kids in bird suits. I'm by no means the first person to try and flesh the universe out and I won't be the last. I've tried to make sense of a canon which uses poor continuity, bad science, terrible nomenclature and an inconsistent, fluid and non-canonical timeline. So every now and again I will probably get something wrong. I use a lot of original characters and try to write them as distinctively as I can. Their purpose is to hold a mirror up, to point out the inherent silliness in some of the canon and in other words, to speak for you and me, the people who went, "What? What the heck?" even while we loved the show. As such my characters are snide, sarcastic and genre-savvy. There are times when I'll be very silly and times when I'll aim to get you right in the feels. Hopefully I won't be too far off target.

The stories in this series won't be published in chronological order as they weren't written in chronological order. The series order is basically there to give you an idea of how the timeline works. I do have a plan. I do have an overarching story arc and I hope you'll stick around to see how it all pans out. I've been working on these stories for over a decade so my goal is to be able to finish the arc before I get too old or die.
