Summary
Cate Martin, a vivid reader and practiced writer, dreams of becoming a prominent author in her own right. Yet, when a series of editors and publishers put her first book on hold, she turns to one of the few works that's always inspired her to persevere. However, it seems J.R.R. Tolkien's world has a few plans in store for her she hadn't quite been counting on. Spirited away to the land of Arda, Cate will have to contend with Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, Wizards, a Hobbit, and much more in order to find a way back to her world. If she survives the journey, that is.

Summary
Thorin and Company (and the Company of One) are moving further into The Lone Lands. Their Quests are perilous, for danger is never far behind, and the question of their stolen homelands echos constantly at the back of their minds. The answers lie in Rivendell, at the hands of Lord Elrond. Yet, the Two Companies are not the only ones to seek his council. The question of home may not be all of what Cate hopes. For as far as she has come, the road goes ever onward . . . and she must follow if she can.
