Summary
“You’re not taking him,” Jaemin hisses as he glares at the two.
He crouches to Jaemin’s level, making sure to still keep his distance. He sees the way Jaemin’s eyes seem to glare even harder as he tightens his arms even more around Mark’s body. Mark let’s out a little squeak when that happens, but makes no move to stop it from happening.
Jaehyun gives Jaemin a soft smile that seems to momentarily take Jaemin off his guard. “Jaemin,” Jaehyun says softly. “We’re not taking Mark away from you.”
Jaemin’s eyebrows scrunch up as he listens to those words. “You’re lying,” he says after a few moments.
Jaehyun shakes his head with a chuckle, “I promise I wouldn’t lie to you, Jaemin. We want you to come home with us too,” Jaehyun smiles at Jaemin’s stunned eyes, “Would you want to come home with us too? We won’t separate you if you say no though.”
or: mark and jaemin are inseparable, but they might just find a home together after all

“why are you sitting here?” jaemin asked, one monday evening, his coal black eyes picking apart mark’s face, noting every quiver of his lips as the older tries to decide how to answer.
“you looked lonely,” was mark’s final reply, finally looking up from his food to meet jaemin’s stare. jaemin looks down at his plate immediately. “i thought… i don’t know, i guess that you looked like a good friend to have.”

jaehyun snorts into his food and johnny fixes him with a stern look before turning back to jaemin with those same big hopeful eyes. “not a playdate. but i do think you might help jisung settle, he took a shine to you, you know. he was quite upset for weeks after you left.”
“how sad for him,” jaemin drones, playing with his food, appetite suddenly missing.
“so..?”
“i’ll think about it.” jaemin replies, but he knows as well as everyone at the table that he won't be able to say no in the end.
