Hidan lets out a low whistle. "Shit, you just fucked up big."
Kakuzu doesn't turn away from the window, watching the sun begin to set and tint the low layer of clouds a brilliant golden-orange beneath the edge of the floor. The towering high-rise penthouse is one of only a few luxuries that he allows himself, despite the exorbitant cost. It serves a purpose that no other could: it's convenient, it's secure, it's a symbol of Akatsuki's wealth and power and prestige...and it's beautiful. He takes a slow sip of red wine from his glass and wonders just when Hidan had learned that he was less likely to get himself a smack if he was actively holding that five thousand dollar Macbook whenever he opened his mouth.
"He is an Uchiha, then?" Kakuzu asks quietly.
"Not just an Uchiha. That was Uchiha Itachi."

He steps back out of Madara's gentle hold, drops smooth and graceful and touches his head to the floor. Lank, heavy hair falls like shadow around his face. "Please. Back me on this. Help me find him."
Silence, for a moment. Then, very quietly, "I'm trying."
In an alternate timeline, Shisui wasn't sent to London after Hideki's murder. He was given to the Hyuuga. And Itachi...breaks.

Summary
