Summary
Caelus takes this as a bad sign, not a moment to catch his thoughts, to figure out where to go from here. “Ah, I see. You can forget about it. I’ll just—” He shifts in those blankets and gathers the screen he was holding, and his discarded jacket.
“Wait.” Dan Heng’s hand moves before he can stop it. Caelus’s wrist is soft underneath the calloused pads of his fingers. He rubs at the bone there in a way that he hopes is comforting, and says, “You’re warm. And soft. And you taste—”
This is going terribly. Dan Heng isn’t a smooth man.
An accidental kiss leads to a real kiss between emotionally stunted idiots.

Summary
“Hey, look at me.” It’s a whisper in the night and Dan Heng looks. Caelus is a vision in his bed, swathed in blankets, in his pillows, in his scent—and that is nearly enough to pull him out of his thoughts. “You’re here,” says Caelus, cradling Dan Heng’s face as if he’s precious, as if he’s a breakable thing nearly split down the middle.
He isn’t but there’s a fear of it, crumbling apart at a moment’s notice, and were this a more opportune time Caelus would tease him about how that’s the point.
Instead, Caelus kisses him, sweet and lingering, and whispers against his mouth, “You’re here with me. You aren’t alone.”Right. Right, right, right.
Caelus is there for Dan Heng when he needs a reminder that he's no longer alone.
