When Aventurine and Dr Veritas Ratio find themselves at the centre of the mystery of Penacony, they discover that their personal goals, and rising mutual attraction, aren't all that dissimilar. Summary
Unlike their prior rendezvous, there’s little sense of urgency here which startles Aventurine more than Ratio’s advances.
He could die tomorrow and yet all of this seems slow and syrupy and intimate in a way that he shouldn’t allow himself to be.
Not with Ratio, and not with anyone.
Hours before Aventurine and Ratio meet with Sunday to enact their plan, they meet up for drinks and find comfort in each other for what could be the last time. Penacony spoilers.
