“Huh? Oh, thanks. I’ve got lots of practice at home, y’know?” Gyuvin said as he tossed the wet wipe in the garbage. He shook his hands of the chemical residue and made his way closer to Ricky slowly, tentatively. “They seemed to like you, too."
Ricky shook his head and scoffed. “What was that all about anyway? About you liking me, huh?” Ricky asked, a smirk creeping up his face.
Gyuvin suddenly felt sick, almost feverish. Like he was burning up—Gyuvin felt like Ricky doused him with gasoline, and then he dropped a lighter. Gyuvin opened his mouth. Then closed it. And then opened it once more. His jaw hung open like an idiot—but Gyuvin couldn’t speak. What was there to say?
Sorry, my students know me better than I know myself, and they can face the fact that I’m in love with you—because I can’t. I can’t face my feelings for you. I can’t ever face you, Ricky.
“Just kids being kids, Ricky. They can come up with some wild stuff—that’s all it is. Don’t worry about it.”
Ricky tells Gyuvin about a job opening at his dance studio, right next to the pizza parlor where Gyuvin works. He considers.
