Summary
Daniel’s feral with it, his hands cup Armand’s face and try to keep him still as he licks inside his mouth with a desperation he’d feel ashamed of if he was capable of feeling shame; of feeling anything that wasn’t this raw power that’s almost burning through his veins, pumped throughout his body by the vicious beating of his heart. Behind his eyelids, he sees Armand again, angel-trickster-god laid out on pristine white sheets soiled by shocking smears of red. Armand, a hot heavy breath in his ear as he whispers beloved like it’s a prayer. He sees himself—his younger self, hair not yet white, body not yet touched by age—the expanse of his own chest reflected by the night behind a window and Armand behind him, inside him, holding him aloft as he fucks him, one hand coming up around his chest to tip his head to the side, the flash of white fangs right before they sink into heated flesh.

Summary
Old man Daniel Molloy and even older vampire Armand navigate the threads of their shared past, unearthing memories, facing unforeseen challenges, and learning how to move forward when all they've been doing is looking back.
As he’s patting his pockets for his wallet and phone—which, on second thought, he leaves behind—he’s trying to figure out why the revelation is getting to him so much. He’s famously not an easy man to intimidate, yet here he is—calling his imaginary vamp-hotline just to warn a preternatural being of immense power to be wary about dropping by. And why? The Talamasca surely knows about their past, even though there was no trace of that in the carefully curated files they got onto his computer. Maybe it’s the fact that they know to begin with, and he’s becoming real tired of being the one who knows the least about his own life.
