How long do you think we’re gonna be like this?”
She asks as she rests herself on her elbows, mindlessly raking her hand through Satoru’s unkept hair. Smiling at the way it stuck out in various directions, reminding her of the 16year old boy he once was, and to an extent would never really be again.
He shrugs, grinning in a way that only took up half his face.
The way he knew she liked to mimic unknowingly.“I dunno, till we die?”

“Shoko?”
He asks her more as a question than anything else because it better hides the waver in his voice. He wasn’t scared of her per se, he wasn’t really scared of anything, he was more intimidated than anything else.
“No.”
He looked back at her, confused at her outright refusal to even return his greeting.
“What do you mean no? I haven’t even said anything.”
Shoko sighed, leaning against her door frame, the look of complete disinterest being clearly conveyed.
“You didn’t have to say anything Satoru, your presence is enough.”
