Noel had laughed at first. He’d heard of it, vaguely. Some newly developed quack science claiming the ability to influence people’s minds. But Arthur had assured him that whatever Noel had heard was, in all likelihood, largely inaccurate. The man claimed he had some experience with it, and explained how he thought it might help Noel get some proper rest.
And hell if Noel wasn’t prepared to try just about anything at this point.

Summary
Noel had hoped he could leave all that behind him when he finally escaped The Dreamlands and The King. That trained ferociousness clung to him though and reared its ugly head at the worst of times. When his partners would unknowingly trigger a defensive response, they’d be subject to an unexpected screaming match or their touch being slapped away. It only ever took the one instance for them to walk away from Noel. He never blamed them for that. The baggage he carried with him was…more than any of them had signed up for.
Noel was broken and it was moments like these that convinced him that he was too far gone to love. To be loved.
Arthur and John deserved so much better than this.
So, Noel silently waits for this familiar scene in front of him to fold into the rest. For history to repeat itself again.
