Summary
Yesod said something else, but Netzach couldn’t hear it.
There was something roiling underneath the layers of clothes he always wore. There was something undulating, something bubbling, a deep, corrosive rot that he saw chipping away at Yesod’s soul.
It was almost unbearable to witness; it was impossible to look away from.
Netzach cut him off in the middle of a word. “You’re rotting, that’s the issue. That’s why you hide yourself away like that, right? There’s something within you that you can’t face.”

Netzach had never felt more inadequate, more imperfect, more of a loser, than he had in that moment.
So he leaned forward, closing the short distance that still remained between them, and kissed him, in a last-ditch attempt to regain some semblance of control in his life, to try to feel something other than guilt and shame and suffering.
