“We all know you’ve had something for my Colin since like junior year when you absolutely made a fool out of yourself..” Debbie shrugged, nonchalantly as if she was talking about the weather and not the most embarrassing moment in Hanni’s life.
“Debbie...” Colin called, tugging at her arm to let her know it was enough.
“I don’t have anything for Colin!” Hanni’s voice came out strangled and high-pitched and completely unbelievable. It was simply an unfortunate result of the shock of hearing what the other had just said and a drop of saliva deciding that moment was the right moment to go down the wrong pipe.
Debbie snorted and folded her arms. “Please, you’ve always hated me because he liked me better. Just admit it, we are all adults here. You didn’t have to beg some random model to be your cover story. What so now you’re gay? As if.”Pham Hanni is not one for elaborate schemes, unless she is, but she also happens to be terrible at it. They usually end up in disaster, but this time around she included Minji in it. Minji who likes to tease her and bicker with her just to annoy, but would do almost anything for her. What could possibly go wrong?

“So, about the jealousy thing.” She muttered on Monday morning over a cup of coffee.
Danielle brightened up immediately.
“I knew you were going to come back and ask for more!” She gloated, while munching on a tomato. Hanni regretted her choice immediately.
“You know what, never mind.” She mumbled tossing around her own lunch with her chopsticks.
“No, no,” Danielle reassured, after swallowing. “I’m sorry, I’ll tone down the smugness. Go ahead, this is a safe place, you don’t have to be embarrassed.”
“If you talk like that it’s only making me feel worse.”
“So you admit you’ve been thinking about it?” Danielle asked with a glint in her eyes, one that Hanni thought looked dangerous.
“Yes,” she muttered, lips pursed in an unhappy pout. “It’s all your fault and the hickey.” She complained.
“Does Minji not...”
“Minji is great!” Hanni was quick to defend. “And I’ve never felt... unsatisfied.” She made sure to let her know.

The twinge of jealousy hit Minji too, hearing about the three of them growing closer and experiencing something she could never understand. She smiled, hoping it didn’t look too bitter and opened her arms to invite the younger in a hug.
