Sayaka starts over for what had to be the millionth time.
It was a miserable loop of constant failure, of Homura contracting or dying or both— now she was in class again, waiting for the girl to introduce herself awkwardly as she always did. And she was sure she’d introduce herself the same, because everything is always the same.
But, wait, why was her hair down? And where were her glasses? And… when did she become a magical girl?

For once, Sayaka has the upper hand.
There are no magical girls, and no witches, save Sayaka herself. Mami, Kyoko, Madoka, even that random kid Kyoko had with her, are all alive, they’ll all get to pursue real goals beyond survive until tomorrow and don’t die to this witch. Even Homura had been rescued from her eternal damnation.
So of course Madoka has to show up with her ridiculous false bravado of eternal mercy and try and talk her into giving up. As if!
She’s worked too hard to get here. She will not let Madoka Kaname ruin what she’s built.
