Summary
PUGACHEV'S COBRA
“In aerobatics, the cobra maneuver (or just the cobra), also called dynamic deceleration, among other names, is a dramatic and demanding maneuver in which an airplane flying at a moderate speed abruptly raises its nose momentarily to a vertical and slightly past vertical attitude, causing an extremely high angle of attack and momentarily stalling the plane, the pilot nearly falling out of the sky and almost wanting to, making a full-body air brake before dropping back to normal position, better than normal life, during which the aircraft does not change effective altitude, but the pilot flies higher than he ever did.”
Rosie, Bucky and Gale are not doing well after the war ends. They try, and fail, at coping; what ultimately ends up saving them is a not-so-drastic career change, and the comfort they find in each other.
Or: and airline pilot happy ending 'verse, that got way out of hand.Series

Summary
APPROACH SLOPE
"An approach slope is the path that an aircraft follows on its final approach to land on a runway. It is ideally a gentle downward slope. A commonly used approach slope is 3° from the horizontal. However, some people have a steeper approach slope because of topography, memories, or other considerations."
Gale is back at Thorpe Abbotts; he waits for Bucky to come home to him every night. Rosie still can't think properly around him, so he copes the only way he can: he builds a friendship.Reading the first bit of the series is not strictly needed, but it's appreciated :>

"SOMATOGRAVIC ILLUSIONS
Somatogravic illusions are caused by linear accelerations, momentous changes, or finally getting to hold someone you thought was dead. These illusions involving the utricle and the saccule of the vestibular system are most likely to occur under conditions with unreliable or unavailable external visual references, unreliable internal emotional references, or unavailable quick reference entries on how to survive this."
Unicorns are fucking real, and John comes home to his Buck. They get a moment alone, and they can barely let each other go.
Reading the first two parts of the series is not strictly necessary but appreciated, reading part two is necessary if you want extra Forbidden Gale Lore™ lmao

Summary
"HOLDING PATTERN
In aviation, holding (or flying a hold) is a manoeuvre designed to delay an aircraft already in flight while keeping it within a specified airspace or predefined relationship without ruining anything; i.e. "going in circles." The primary use of a holding pattern is to delay aircraft that have arrived at their destination but cannot land yet because of traffic congestion, poor weather, the other person being in love with someone else, or runway unavailability (for instance, during snow removal or emergencies)."
After finally going home, Rosie is on a mission to conquer the United States, one Air Force Base at a time; telling the tales of his adventures in postcards and letters to Bucky and Gale.
(At least most of them)
On the road, he meets new people, sees new places, and tries to figure out what he wants out of life; out of love. Not that it's always love. (It's almost never love) (It's elsewhere)OR: Rosie's Intercontinental Sexcapades, Courting Bucky Egan Through Letters, Long-Distance Third-Wheeling, Road Trips That Are Technically Not Roadtrips
Part two of the series, Glideslope, is necessary to understand this part, the others are not.
