So, yes, a E. L. Konigsburg pastiche, because it's fanfic and I can, featuring my OCs Jason and Jonathan and everyone's least favorite patriarch (who's doing his best).

Takes place during 'From the Rather Orderly Files of Mr. William T. Ellison.' The smarm-rich details of what my teen OCs Jonathan and Jason do after Bill Ellison and Sally Wong say good night late in the story.

Summary
From 'Chiefly': Almost as soon as the cameras had stopped clicking in Jim's face, Blair had started to get letters, calls, emails, people on their doorstep. "My little girl won't eat anything but fruit, and won't wear anything but pajamas." "They say my son is autistic, but he's very social. What do I do with him?" "My brother can't even go into a supermarket." "My parents don't know where I am, but I just couldn't live in that house anymore." "Why do I notice the fog so much, when nobody else is blinded by it?" "I can read things nobody else can and pick out individual voices in a stadium. Surely there's something useful I can do with this?" "The nursing facility says my mother is delusional, but she's always been able to see and hear things nobody else can. It's never been a problem. Can you write a note saying she's sane?" "Can you help my child?" "Can you help my friend?" "Can you help me?"
This is the story of the first kids to land on his doorstep.

Summary
What it says on the box. Having rescued teen sentinel/best friend/personal project Jason from an inappropriate placement, life returns to normal for Jonathan. Or not.
Though AO3 tells me this is the ninth in the series, it takes place right after the fifth story, "The Other Side"; I'm not being terribly linear.

Summary
In didn’t happen every night, but when it – when Jonathan would get out of bed, sneak out of the dorm, find the bottle of rum he’d stashed nearby, and take three careful gulps - there was nothing Jason could do but lie in bed as he felt Jonathan slipping away from him.
The conclusion of my "Right Now, In Cascade" series. Unless it isn't. And I've been working on the series for a decade, so it's not really "right now" anymore. Sorry.
Also, a character uses a little profanity, but I'm labeling this "General Audiences" so as not to get anyones hopes up.
