Summary
Seonghwa was a very old god, but being old did not mean he had much power. Gods required followers, worship, and the love and devotion of mortals to be powerful. While many mortals loved the stars, few were devoted to them.
Hongjoong was different. After Seonghwa saved his life while he was lost at sea, the pirate spent nearly every waking moment devoted to the star god, doing everything he could to build Seonghwa's power in the hopes that one day he could feel his beautiful god's embrace.
