But she knew that would only make it harder. So instead, she gripped the blanket tightly and took a deep, shaky breath. Her eyes fell to the floor, where her suitcase sat packed and ready, a visual representation of the finality of her decision. She had to leave. The new dorm was waiting, promising a fresh start, but all she could think about was the emptiness she would feel without her beloved partner by her side.
