“Please,” he says before he can stop himself, breaking the kiss, and Arishat leans slightly back, her eyes warm and searching.
“Yeah?” she asks, her lips swollen and curling upwards. “You want to show me how much you missed me?” she suggests, easy and teasing, and Hanno could kiss her again just for this, for granting him this, for letting him feel here and for managing to make it look like he isn’t absolutely pathetically craving anything from her, because somehow she is always able to meet him in the middle, somehow she is always able to soothe his racing mind with her steady presence, grounding him.
