Well, they were seated for 15 to 20 minutes without service, but the restaurant was indeed over capacity, and the poor waitstaff… were overworked and underpaid as usual for their jobs. Chrollo should have realized by how unfazed everyone else at the table looked that he should be bracing himself for a long night, but he couldn’t imagine what was to come at that point.

Summary
Right now, Chrollo stood at the end of an endless cashier line at Home Depot on a scorching summer Monday. He thought he would find the store empty of people, but apparently, it was treehouse-building season, and all the parents decided to buy the materials on that same day. Chrollo just wanted to buy a lock for Alluka’s room, and he regretted telling her and Kurapika that they could go shopping, and he would join them soon—it would have been nice to have someone to talk to.
