Summary
His voice trembled as he reached for another arrow. „I’m going to hunt something,“ he declared, forcing authority into his tone. „You’ll see—I’ll catch dinner tonight.“
Amras raised a skeptical eyebrow, grinning playfully. „Careful, Curvo. You wouldn’t want to ruin your perfect little image with failure.“
Curufin turned sharply away, hiding his burning cheeks and stormy eyes, and strode deeper into the forest. He would prove it to them, to everyone. He wasn’t just a shadow, no matter what they believed.

Summary
Maedhros dragged them out by their collars, muttering dire things about melted bones, paternal wrath, and how he was too young to be responsible for funerals. He deposited them in the hallway like sacks of grain and gave them each a very long stare before walking away without another word.
That should have been the end of it.

Summary
“My son,” he said, voice perfectly flat, “must you bring me the entire forest?”
Celegorm, still beaming, still bleeding slightly, held the badger a little higher like a sacred offering. “Yes.”
There was silence.
The badger hissed.

Summary
“What do you mean, he will not speak? Has he taken a vow of silence?”
“He locked his door,” Amras murmured. “He will not come out.”
Fëanáro’s expression soured. “So we’re doing this again.”
He pressed his fingers to his temples. “I have not the time nor the patience for this. One of you will go and tell him to remember he is a son of the Noldor and to cease this childishness.”
The twins did not move.
No one did.
That stillness should have been his first true warning.

Summary
“All right,” Narbi barked, “today, you’re forging one thing. One. Simple. Thing.”
“A sword!” Celegorm shouted.
“A harp string ring!” said Maglor.
“A perfectly balanced nail,” whispered Caranthir with feral look.
Narbi groaned. “No. A hook. For a door. That’s it.”
Fëanor appeared behind them holding disgruntled Curufin, looking far too amused. “I think they’ll manage. Probably. I’ll be judging silently. Possibly dramatically.”
“Figured.”
“What could possibly go wrong?” Fëanor added, winking.
Narbi paled.
