Just a few hours. Just a few hours at this stupid party, making idle chat with drunk strangers who don't know his name, let alone his deadname. A few hours before Aegon is insensate enough he can be hauled home, where everyone will have hopefully gone to bed, where Luke will pass one more night until the Hightowers leave, until college, until out of this fucked-up town.
Just a few hours. He twists his hands in his lap, knuckles white, willing himself to take deep breaths as the car gradually grinds to a halt.
__Or: Aegon is in a spot of trouble with his dealer, Luke doesn't yet know how much he'll be helping out, and Dalton is the hungry thing waiting in the dark.

Luke takes a deep breath, then another. He settles back against the couch with his eyes squeezed shut, fists clenched at his side. When he opens them again Dalton's still there, smiling at him, eyes narrowed a little with worry.
"You good?" he asks, because of course he fucking does.
"There's--" Luke scrubs his hands over his face, choking back a hysterical giggle. "There's something really fucking wrong with you."
___Luke runs, but he can't hide.
