Summary
Returning from what should have been a routine mission, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn is forced to land on Mustafar for unexpected ship repairs.
That would have been unusual enough - but finding a Zabrak child alone in a hidden facility steeped in the dark side definitely hadn't been part of the plan.
In which Obi-Wan isn't sure how to feel about the latest pathetic life form his master has picked up, Maul definitely knows how to feel and is trying to bite everyone, and Qui-Gon and Mace get a buddy cop adventure to figure out where this strange child who may or may not be a Sith apprentice came from.

Summary
“Master Windu,” Depa proposed calmly, “I believe it is time we allow Maul to attend his Gathering.”
Mace had to hand it to Depa; his former apprentice had mastered the art of framing whatever she asked for as nothing more than a reasonable suggestion.
“…I’m not sure that’s wise,” Mace replied.
“He’s old enough,” Depa said. “And he’s frustrated. I agree that he has to stay with the younger children for now, but he would like to be treated as his own age. He wants some measure of autonomy.”
“Autonomy is one thing,” Mace pointed out. “A lightsaber is another.”
In which Maul attends an important Jedi rite of passage, and Mace Windu tries to decide what to do with his new bitey Padawan who still likes to use the dark side
