Summary
“Shit,” Mickey mutters.
His eyes scan the lot pretty fiercely. The flashing lights of the cop cars are already casting harsh beams across the painted parking lines.
Her brother-in-law is looking for something — someone, Tami realizes.
“He’ll be here soon… Ian,” she stammers.
Maybe not a great idea to say that. The Gallaghers aren’t fans of people getting too close — even if it’s just to suggest they swap out a disgusting kitchen sponge. And with Mickey, it’s worse.
“I can talk to two fuckin’ cops without Ian,” he objects, something childish in his tone.
“Hmm. If you say so.”
He grunts. His polite version of “fuck off.”// On a Sunday, at the end of August, a simple trip to Dunkin' Donuts takes a dark turn for Mickey and Tami. But the night they spend with their family after, brings them some comfort.
