Summary
In the alternate ending of the Revenge of the Sith video game, Anakin kills Obi-Wan and Palpatine and declares himself ruler of the galaxy. But what happens after that?
More than a decade later, the former Naboo Royal Handmaiden Sabé is known to all but a few as the Empress Amidala, or just The Empress, and is, unwillingly, usually the most powerful person in the galaxy. All citizens know there is an Emperor, but he is regarded as more of a god than a man; it was considered both treason and near-blasphemy when dissidents kidnapped three-year-old Prince Luke, leaving Princess Leia as sole heir. Raised in a gilded cage, Leia never questions the rightness of the way things are until her fourteenth birthday, when, on a rare trip outside her home, she accidentally discovers that the Empress is not her biological mother. Shocked, she impulsively runs away - a decision which will soon push the galaxy to the brink of multiple civil wars even before she draws the attention of certain ghosts...

Summary
In the sequel to Star AUs, Episode IV, Princess Leia has narrowly escaped from the Empire’s attempt to seize her on Alderaan. Along with an old bodyguard, a reluctant companion, and a ship’s captain who just wanted to get paid for delivering some ice peppers, she plunges into the Dark with no plan and no prospects beyond a dream pointing her toward a remote world which hides a shocking secret.
Meanwhile, the Galactic Empire attempts to continue business as usual, going forth with installing ‘Princess Leia’ as the new Queen of Naboo with the help of her Handmaidens and keeping her disappearance a secret. When rumors about the truth begin to spread, however, many factions see opportunity in the uncertainty about her whereabouts while only a few fully see the risks of taking those opportunities….
