Azul’s reflection in the polished glass of Mostro Lounge was perfect. The glinting shine from the chandelier caught the sharp edges of his glasses just so, his uniform immaculate as though not a single wrinkle dared exist in his presence. He smiled — warm, charming, professional — as he thanked a group of customers for their patronage. His voice didn’t falter, though there was a faint scratch in it, easily dismissed by anyone less than scrutinizing.
Inside, however, everything burned.
