  I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget the taste of rotting flesh, mixed with the sweet crunch of maggots and flies getting stuck between my teeth. Every night I wake up in a panic and have to brush and floss my teeth like my life depends on it for at least ten minutes. I swear I’m still spitting up little wings. I’ll stare at myself in the mirror, too. There’s fat on my bones again. There’s color in my eyes and skin. I look a little more human. I wish I was beginning to feel more human.
