Summary
Akaza stares at him with a triumphant smile, knowing that Kyojuro feels the same, too. He feels impossibly drawn to Kyojuro — to his strength and his presence, which at times feels almost overwhelming. He doesn't remember how the sun felt, but somehow Akaza thinks it would feel like Kyojuro’s presence: warm and nearly blinding like his fighting spirit that burns like a flame. Fighting against him filled his veins with excitement and made his skin burn as if he were exposed to the sun.

Summary
Kyojuro is still holding him, and Akaza basks in his warmth. He doesn’t remember how the sun feels on his skin, nor does he remember how warm it was. But in Kyojuro’s arms, Akaza feels like he’s touching the warmth of the sun for the first time in his life. It feels beautiful — it feels overwhelming. He hides his face against Kyojuro’s shoulder wondering how it would feel to spend his nights wrapped in his affection. It would feel so peaceful to simply close his eyes and let himself be lulled by Kyojuro’s sunny presence. But can he dare to hope?

Summary
"Don't you dare say that," Akaza warns him, trying to keep his voice down, completely overwhelmed by his feelings. "Promise me, Kyojuro. Promise me that you will never shield me again." There’s urgency in his voice, and he will never take no for an answer. He has to promise him — right here, and now. “I’m a demon, Kyojuro — I know you sometimes seem to forget about that, but that doesn’t change the truth. I’m a demon, few things can really hurt me. Only two things can kill me.”
They stare at each other for a moment, and Akaza feels his eyes sting and wonders if he's crying or not. He can feel a strange pain at the back of his throat, and taste the bitter tang of agony. If Kyojuro were to die, Akaza would lose himself once again.

Summary
"I don't care," Akaza retorts, closing his eyes for a moment. “I'll hide so deep in the woods that no human will ever find me,” he adds, gazing at Kyojuro intently.
He probably means that he wouldn't be a problem for the demon slayers, since he would avoid humans completely. But that's not what he wants, and deep down neither does Akaza.
Kyojuro doesn't want to lose Akaza. He loves him, cares about him, and he would never part ways with him. Not now that their lives are so profoundly intertwined.
