Summary
He clenches his eyes shut and tries to pull himself together. “Forgive me,” he says stiffly, shifting on his heels and making an attempt to stave off the ever quickening pull. “I am—I don't believe I am in the right mind to attend dinner.” He lets his eyes open, avoiding Granby's suddenly heavy gaze and glancing about for a distraction so that he can return to his room. He should not impose this burden upon his—upon Granby and Tharkay.
OR: Laurence's heat hits while he's imprisoned with Granby and Tharkay in France. What's a man to do when his only options are to suffer or take pleasure from his closest companions?

Napoléon is exceedingly pleased as he guides his odd little group of ducklings down the path, his guards anxiously following behind.

OR: Returned to 1805 and easily coaxed to Paris by the strange happenstance they seem to have found themselves in, Laurence, Granby, Temeraire, Tharkay, and Emily Roland must deal with an even more unrepentant Napoléon who seeks to turn them all to his side. Though he has decidedly more elaborate plans for Laurence, he is not blind to the other two, and even if both Granby and Tharkay look as though they'd like to do nothing more than stab him, Napoléon is decidedly aware of how thin the line of hate and love can become.

“And it does not hurt to be one or the other?” he asks, fascination settling into his stomach, even as it turns at the odd sight. His hand raises, as if to touch, before he remembers himself and leaves it hovering awkwardly in the air. The change reminds him of the shimmering eels they would pull up sometimes, in the darkest parts of the ocean they sailed across; creatures that made no sense with their slick flailing tentacles and terrifying wide jaws with too many teeth, ones that could not be eaten, for they were all muscle, but he had always found them all the more mesmerizing for their strangeness. “You do not find yourself holding back part of your whole when you are singularly human?”
Women are not the only secret that the Aerial Corps is hiding. The bloodswearing is another.

Summary
He cannot split the want from himself despite his shame; it is too deeply entrenched. It is also not as though he wholly wants to discard his greed either; there is a piece of him that covets, that wishes to demand devotion, that would, in turn, send him to his knees, if Tharkay so desires; would see him tuned to a note that only Tharkay could pluck with steady hands.
Laurence shares breakfast with Tharkay and wants. He thinks it may be too much.

Summary
Local dragons run an experiment called: Dragon See, Dragon Do (only not everything their humans do is fit for their attempts)
OR: Granby and Little are just trying to find their place in a post-war world. In the background (and don't think too hard about this), Temeraire and Iskierka run some experiments, try to get along as best they can, and accidentally introduce their humans to the concept of polyamory. Also, Immortalis is there too, but he's much more dignified about this whole mess.
