Summary
"How long—how long have they been hurting you?!"
And that was it. The dam broke.
Months of secrets, of fear, of swallowing down pain and terror—it all came flooding out of Finney in a rush. His voice cracked, tears streaming down his face, mixing with chlorine until his eyes burned.
"Moose hates all of you. When he found out I was your soulmate, he said—he said the universe made a mistake. And i know he was right. I'm not—I'm not what you're looking for. You deserve better than—"
"Stop." Bruce's hands cupped Finney's face with a gentleness that contradicted the steel in his voice. Forced him to meet his eyes. "Don't talk like that. You are exactly what we've been looking for. You're our sixth. Our missing piece. And those bastards have been keeping you from us—hurting you—for months?"

Summary
It happened on a dull Thursday afternoon, the kind where the sun couldn't decide whether to shine or surrender entirely to the gathering clouds. Billy was shoving books into his locker with mechanical efficiency, Bruce standing beside him in their usual cluster of chatty friends.
Unlike most days, Billy felt bone-tired, mentally counting down the minutes until he could escape home to Harvey.
That's when the voice came.
"I won't tell them."
It's not words, it's fear he heard in a way that made every hair on Billy's body stand on end. They reverberated through his skull, carved themselves into the space behind his ribs where the soulbond lived.

Summary
"I don't want to hurt forever," Griffin admitted, his voice cracking. "But I don't want to be scared forever either."
Billy and Bruce exchanged another look, something heavy passing between them. These two boys who suddenly looked so much more fragile than they had moments ago. Billy was shaking now, just slightly, and Bruce's hand clenched Griffin's hand like he was physically holding himself together.
They were terrified. Of him running. Of becoming another ghost they'd spend years chasing. Another wound that would never... heal.
The mark pulsed against his skin, warmer than before, and suddenly it felt less like a chain and more like... a lifeline. Not just his, but theirs too
"Mark or no mark, we'd want you to be safe." He pressed his hand over his heart. "And we don't abandon our own."
"Never," Bruce agreed, and the conviction in that single word resonated through Griffin's bones.

Summary
Finney dimly realized he was holding onto someone’s sleeve. Someone’s shirt.
He didn’t know whose.
He just knew it felt warm.
.
"Guilt and anger can wait. Right now, Finney’s well-being comes first. End of discussion."
"...I just want to hit something," Robin says, and his voice sounds raw even to his own ears.
"I know. Me too." Bruce manages a grim smile. "And we will. Moose will pay. I promise you that. But not today. Today, we go back in there, we sit with our soulmate, and we let Finny know—that he's not alone, that we're here, that he's safe. Can you do that?"
