Summary
For sixteen years, Rachel Beckford’s existence has been a quiet, rural disgrace, sequestered away in the shadows of Jagd. When a miraculous acceptance letter offers a ticket out of the forests, she finds herself in front of the iron gates of Verda College. But Verda is an all-male sanctuary of "civilised humanity", and Rachel's arrival is an "error" that forces her into a desperate masquerade: be Ray Beckford.
