It's shocking, that in the face of a day so beautiful and bright, he would rather watch the slow spread of Jayce's smile as he examines the peaches a couple trees down.
"You okay?" Jayce's voice startles him.
Not okay, Viktor thinks, but doesn't say. What can he say, really, other than "when you hold that basket of summer peaches and the light becomes ensnared in your eyes I understand why Degas did his pastels. The Impressionists painted light because they were helpless to do anything else in its wake, and every second of every day you make me wish I were an artist so I could sketch the shape of you, if only to feel like I could do something other than just behold the magic of your hands, the smell of summer in your hair, the softness of your eyes. If only to have evidence that I was worthy of its witness, if only as a testimony that I could keep it safe."
or: Viktor’s car breaks down in small-town summer purgatory. Jayce is the only thing close to a mechanic in a 50 mile radius. Viktor learns to love more than just the local produce.

Summary
With each day Viktor can still feel his skin tightening, crawling with the need to be more than this, to get back to the chrome of his caustic city, to be in a proper lab, not just a garage which doubles as a farming implement repair shop. It's selfish, irrational, and unfair. He itches to be free from the hollow of Piltover’s closing hand. He feels horrible about it, because he loves Jayce and that should be a complete sentence.
The feeling stays. Viktor does too.Or: Viktor moves in to Jayce's charming rural hometown with the love of his life. It's perfect until it's not.
