What story, I hear you ask? Ah, child, a story older than anyone alive today, besides the gods themselves. Or so they say.
The story of the sun god, and the Heroes of the Sun from over two hundred years ago. Sit, sit- if there is any story worth hearing, it is this. Let an old lady pass on her family's fables, hm?

In Splatsville, the night of Splatoween is vibrant and electric, no effort nor energy being spared to make the holiday a fun event for all- whether they be visitors or citizens.
But one Inkling cannot take her mind off of the secret, ancient past that lies below her feet, its ghosts seemingly haunting her every step. So she gives in, slips off, and dives deep down into the preserved ruins of a final chance.
Will she find an answer to her questions? Or will an old acquaintance of hers, built on memory and love, give her something new...?

Summary
Many people look to the stars. In moments of weakness, or perhaps contemplation. Desperation.
One young soul looks to a sky obscured by ever-present smoke, rising from the burning world below his feet. Imagining stars he has never seen; a moment of weakness before the storm of unexpected change begins. Before the cycle chains its shackles around his neck.
Another looks to a shattered moon surrounded by glittering spots of light, wondering if the sun she has never truly met is the only soul within the cosmos. Wondering which is more destructive: The impulsive desires of mortals or the unrestrained love of the sun.
A third, much older soul looks to the black void in his memory, holding tight to the memory of a home he has been stripped of the key to. Closing his eyes against light enough to drown out the sun; desperately clinging to what little light he has left in hope that he stays afloat.
