Summary
This story follows the same rise, rivalry, and slow-burn collision between Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov but in this story, Shane has a sister.
From World Juniors to draft night to their first NHL seasons, the world sees two prodigies destined to clash. Headlines call them rivals. Analysts compare every stat. The tension is loud, public, marketable.
She sees something else.
She knows Shane’s tells, the jaw set too tight, the silence that means he’s spiraling, the way he pretends not to care when he cares the most. When Ilya enters the picture, brilliant, sharp, impossible to ignore, she notices the shift before anyone else does.
While the league builds a narrative of enemies, she watches the space between them fill with something far more complicated. Lingering looks. Restlessness. A name spoken differently than the others.
Told from the sidelines, this is the same story of Shane and Ilya just seen by someone close enough to notice that the fiercest rivalries don’t always look like hate.
Sometimes they look like inevitability.

Summary
Second part of Built Between Lines series. First part is I Knew Before You Did. This part of the story is set in the stretch between the end of Heated Rivalry and the beginning of The Long Game, this series follows what the world never sees.
Shane and Ilya are still rivals in public. Still headlines. Still careful. The relationship remains a secret to everyone outside a small circle
With their parents’ quiet acceptance, something shifts. Ilya stops being a name spoken cautiously and starts becoming part of the family. Dinners. Inside jokes. Long weekends that feel almost normal. Shane doesn’t have to compartmentalize when he walks through the front door. For the first time, loving Ilya doesn’t require constant defense.
As Ilya signs with Ottawa and builds a new chapter of his career, Caitlin spearheads the Irina Foundation, helping transform Ilya and Shane’s foundation into something public and meaningful, even while the relationship itself remains carefully guarded.

Summary
Set during the years of The Long Game, this series continues to follow Shane and Ilya from the only perspective that has always seen the full picture: his sister’s.
To the hockey world, they are still rivals. Their relationship remains a secret, deliberate, protected, hidden behind discipline and distance.
As contracts shift and the pressure of visibility grows, the cost of hiding becomes heavier. And just when Caitlin thinks she understands how to live alongside their secret, an unexpected trade sends someone from Ilya’s past to the Centaurs. Suddenly, hockey isn’t just her brother’s world, it’s entangled with hers.
Old feelings resurface. New lines are drawn. And while Shane and Ilya continue protecting the life they’ve built behind closed doors, Caitlin finds herself pulled onto the ice in ways she never anticipated.
This is the long game seen from the stands, where love is real, secrecy is strategic, and no one is as removed from the story as they think.

Summary
Ilya and Shane say “I Do” and now what?
Caitlin Hollander has spent most of her life one step to the side of the main story — Shane’s sister, Ilya’s almost-sister, the person who ran the Foundation while everyone else made headlines. When Shane trades to Ottawa and marries Ilya, Caitlin finds herself pulled into the center of their life in a new way — first as a reluctant assistant, then as something more permanent that neither of them has quite named yet.
Running alongside all of it is Cliff Marlow — impulsive, funny, not always sure how to be the person he’s becoming — who is either the best decision Caitlin has ever made or the most complicated one. Probably both.
Three Doors Down is about learning to live inside your own love story instead of watching someone else’s.Series
