In the quiet town of Hawkins 12 year old Jonathan Byers goes missing after his brother forgets to pick him up. At the same time a teen girl has made her escape from a lab with dark secrets.
Jonathan's friends ; Steve, Nancy, Barb and later Robin go searching to find their friend.
Meanwhile Jonathan's older brother, Will gathers his friends to help his search for his little brother wondering if the girl they find in the wood is connected to his disappearance.
