Summary
Objectively, there are worse ways to discover you’re a mutant. Accidentally killing someone you love, setting a building full of people on fire, destroying a highway bridge during rush hour, or leveling a small town would all definitely number in that category. Yet you still can’t help but feel like the universe had played the worst joke ever on you for your own discovery.
If you’d ever paid more attention before, or even just been more aware you might have noticed it sooner, but you had never been the observant type, and it wasn’t like you ever fell into serious danger. Unless you count the depression. That can be dangerous.
