Summary
Nestled in the folds of his bag, his bottle of emergency suppressants stares back at him, and Nico downs two pills dry, even though he hates the way they make him feel. All too soon, his brain goes fuzzy, shivering while his senses are dulled and his scent goes neutral. He slaps a patch over his neck just to be on the safe side, sniffling as it masks the final bit of Timo’s smell that had been lingering on his skin.
He was failing everyone he loved, no matter what he did. Maybe…maybe there was some truth to what the outside world said about him.

Summary
Nico tugs at the collar of his sweatshirt and sighs, hating that the room suddenly feels like it's closing in on him. Why did this have to be so fucking hard? “You and I both know that can’t happen.”
His chest feels tight as he glances back into the living room, seeing Timo lounging in the recliner, the baby fast asleep on his chest. He fights not to let his imagination get the best of him, but it’s no use. Images pop into his brain one after another—the two of them building a crib together, Timo holding a pup with brown hair and hazel eyes, matching rings on their left hand, family skate and first steps and late nights and everything in between—
“Because you can’t? Or is it because you feel like you don’t deserve it?”
