"Hey man, you good?" Bob startles, turning around to glance behind the couch, fruit knife in hand. Walker slowly raises his hands in mock surrender. "Hey, yeah, I'm— I'm good. Just, um, feeding this little guy," Bob lifts the guinea pig in demonstration, as if it would be unclear who he's talking about otherwise.
“And verbal encouragement helps him digest better, or what?” asks Walker, because Walker is a dick, and Bob wants to climb him like a tree.This is the man Bob wants to hold hands with. Voluntarily. With feelings attached.
Or: Bob Reynolds has the power of a million exploding suns and absolutely no idea what to do with himself: A former addict, accidental supervillain, and full-time disaster, he is now inexplicably living in the watchtower with a team of ex-spies and enhanced individuals who are, against all odds, kind to him.
Naturally, he has to ruin it by developing a catastrophic crush on John Walker.

"Mr. C's physical attributes are none of our business," he says, tracing the way bright particles from the ceiling light dance on the bedroom walls, "because Mr. C's card belongs in a trash bin."
Yelena's frown deepens. "What? Why."
Or: Bob Reynolds has a plan. The plan is simple: identify the exact mechanisms of his catastrophic crush on John Walker and dismantle them systematically before anyone gets hurt, least of all himself.
The plan survives approximately one bookstore visit, one unsolicited phone number, and one dinner table where he gets one of the infamous bouts of stubborn confidence and makes it everyone's problem while maintaining direct eye contact with the subject of said crush.
